Actually, I just looked up Quorn, and it's made from mycoprotein (fungi), not corn. I'll look into it some more.

Have you mentioned Quorn, yet? It’s fake chicken but made from corn, and in my opinion not as good as Chik Patties, BUT no plastic wrapper.

I'd like to know how many gallons of petroleum, and how many pounds of carbon dioxide, are represented by each ounce of petroplastic. Could you find this out?

This is the kind of information I need. As a singlette on a budget I have a hard time cooking for myself. I'm trying to get better at freezing some meals but I'm not very good at it yet. It's just so tempting to grab a mini pizza and throw it in the oven. mmm pizza.

I'm working up to it! I've been such a creature of convenience for so long that it will take some time for me to get in the habit of cooking everything from scratch. In the meantime, I'm trying to cut down on the frozen foods and choose the best alternatives ecologically.

We actually do enjoy making our own ice cream.

The main reason for this list is to benefit people who are not ready or willing to give up frozen foods. Baby steps, right?

Ummm... why don't you skip frozen foods altogether (I apologize if you have already addressed this in a different post)? If you make your own food, you have more control over how much plastic goes into assembly. If you need portable meals, you can always store what you make in reusable containers.

You can even make your own icecream.
