Overall Disney is the showplace for working class people. You get so much for the price of admission, Vegas and New York can't touch Disney, It is the cheesiest if you look at the ridiculous art work and figurines, but it is the land of dreams coming true for children. My only problem is with the land of tomorrow. Where some secret powerful engine causes this giant building to move and then they make you wait to present you with a freaking sales pitch ! They trap you and then expect you to listen to crap about some house or other. It burned me up ! They took a chunk of my life without my consent.

I just saw your blog for the first time today. I'm an athlete always searching for recycleable or recycled gear. As far as wicking running fabric, you might actually look at wool. There are some companies out these days that make really thin wool tank tops and shirts for sports. I know Ibex is a company that sells thin merino wool tops, but I can't remember the company I bought my tank top from. That being said, I would absolutely love it if you did a blog on being a green athlete. I swim, and wonder what to do with my goggles, cap, and swimsuit. What about climbing harnesses, cycling shorts, and where can one recycle bike tubes? Just a few questions that are the tip of the iceburg. Looking forward to reading more of your blog!

Thanks, M. It looks like a great company, especially for those who live in Canada. They, like Patagonia, are more geared towards hiking and climbing than running. But the crank top looks good.

Garbage Man, can you please send me an e-mail? I have questions I'd like to ask someone in waste management and am having a hard time getting answers out of the folks here in Oakland.

Thanks for answering my questions. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself at Disneyland, it is quite the experience.

The other day I had to peel an orange. I hate using my nails to do it and many years ago we bought this plastic orange peel starter. I took a picture of it and I'll put it on my blog soon, but I thought of it as one of those things we could probably do without.

Have a great weekend, pat

I would NOT count your running clothes, unless you are planning on disposing of them frequently. This is an area where we agree about plastic use and where I don't worry about plastic avoidance:

The problem of plastic as waste is that it is extremely durable and lasts forever.

If, however, you want something that is durable and lasts forever (and you're not going to simply toss it instead of reusing, donating, etc) then plastic may be exactly what you're looking for.

Obviously if we can find as much petroleum-based fabric, yarn, etc that is made from post-industrial and post-consumer plastic as possible, well, BONUS!

If, on the other hand, you're going to be throwing your (non-recyclable) tupperware in the recycling bin with rotting food in it (as I witnessed at work yesterday, I think it was originally either meatloaf or meat sauce -- hard to tell), you are a bad person. Yes, you read that right -- in the RECYCLING BIN.

Hey there,
I really enjoy your blog.
I wanted to let you know about some recycled-content sporting gear. And I noticed that right now it's on sale for $9 CDN, which is practically free for you!
