Think we can't live without plastic? Think again. In 2007 I committed to stop buying any new plastic & I've almost succeeded! Won't you join me? Let's see what plastic-free looks like in 2012... for the health of our bodies, our oceans, our planet. ~Beth Terry

Well, it looks like Colin's book is coming in third on the new book club poll, so I probably won't be doing a book discussion on it for a while. So, have at it!

Hi Beth! I will take you up on discussing No Impact Man AND on joining in on the Show Your Trash Challenge. I'll email you my results when I do it (probably next week). In the meantime, I'll seek out the book and start reading!

I also wanted to let you know that I have been an avid reader of Fake Plastic Fish for a couple years now. You have helped me become much more aware of my own plastic consumption and have even inspired me to start my own blog to examine my environmental impact. It's brand new...please take a look:
http://footprintsonly.blogspot.com/

Thanks, Beth! Looking forward to discussing No Impact Man.

Anna

Thanks for the link, Anaquite.

Tiffany, the way you take part in the challenge is really up to you. If I were you, I would only count plastic that I generated. As a teachers, I wouldn't count plastic waste brought into the classroom by others. In my business, I would count plastic packaging from supplies, but I'd probably keep it separate from the household waste. As I've mentioned here before, I do try and urge suppliers not to send me anything in plastic.

The bottom line is that how you choose to do it is completely up to you. It's your challenge for your benefit.

Anonymous -- I totally forgot about No Cats On The Internet Day! I'll have to post a cat video for sure before the end of the night!
