Watch “Bag It”…Win “Bag It”

It you still haven’t seen the award-winning film Bag It [1], what are you waiting for?  To celebrate Earth Day, I’ll be participating in several screenings with Q&A.  And I also want to give you an opportunity to win a free copy of the DVD, so you can show it to all your friends!

Bag It is the award-winning documentary about all things plastic (not just bags!) that combines serious information with lots of humor to wake people up to the growing problem of plastic pollution and plastic toxicity.  Jeb Berrier, whom I like to refer to as “Michael Moore Lite” (except if you don’t like Michael Moore, forget I said that because Jeb is funnier and less aggressive), takes viewers on a wild quest to get to the truth about plastic.  He interviews scientists, activists, and experts, and at one point even pays a visit to my bathroom.

Bag It is the film to show friends and family members who have been resistant to the idea of reducing their plastic consumption.  It’s easy to watch (I’ve seen it about a dozen times and don’t get tired of it) but it hits home just how important it is that we stop using so much plastic now!  Here are a few ways you and your friends can see it in the next couple of months.

This Sunday:  Watch Bag It Online, followed by live Q&A with Beth Terry

Green America [2] will be sponsoring a an online screening of Bag It on Earth Day, April 22, at 5pm PDT, followed by a live Q&A.  I’ll be on hand with Green America’s Tracy Rysavy to answer questions about plastic and plastic-free living.  Sign up to watch and participate at constellation.tv/bagit.  And even if you can’t make it, please share the link via Twitter and Facebook to let others know.  Here’s Green America’s blog about the event [3].  We only have a few days to get the word out!

Tuesday, May 22: Free screening, followed by Q&A and Plastic-Free book signing in San Jose, CA

Our City Forest will host a screening at San Jose State University, followed by live Q&A.  Assuming my Plastic-Free [4] books arrive in time, I’ll also be signing books and donating a portion of the proceeds of any books sold to Our City Forest.  Please come and pass on the event info to anyone you know in the San Jose area.

Purchase a copy of the Bag It DVD to watch over and over again.

Bag It is now available on DVD.  While I don’t usually advocate purchasing DVDs when movies can be streamed or rented, in this case I feel like it’s a great educational tool to have on hand to share with others.  Visit New Video [1] to purchase your copy.  When you buy via this link, MyPlasticFreeLife.com will receive a portion of the proceeds to support the work.  What’s more, it will be shipped in plastic-free packaging.

Purchase a digital copy of Bag It through iTunes

Skip the plastic DVD and download a copy onto your hard drive [7] via  iTunes.
