12/20/2013 Update:  Thanks for participating. The Giveaway is over, and the winners have been notified.  You can find who won at the end of this post.

EcoEtsy is giving away 7 different holiday gifts to 7 different readers of My Plastic-Free Life.  They are also offering holiday discounts.  Please read the full post in order to enter the drawing.

EcoEtsy-give-away

Cory Trusty, whom you might remember from my September 9 post, is the owner of Aquarian Bath and offers many plastic-free personal care products in plastic-free shipping materials.

ecoetsy-logoCory is also a member of Team EcoEtsy, a global team of eco-minded Etsy sellers, whose mission is dedicated to protecting our planet by utilizing methods to reduce carbon footprints in managing their businesses in the most eco-friendly manner.  Many members offer plastic-free items and ship their packages without plastic, either by default or upon request.

Seven EcoEtsy team members have donated prizes to be shipped without plastic for this holiday giveaway.  Read more about the prizes and shops below, and visit and follow the EcoEtsy team blog and pinterest boards.

NOTE:  I have not received any compensation whatsoever for posting this giveaway, although Cory is an advertiser on this blog.  I just think it’s important to promote small businesses that are trying to reduce their plastic use and offer plastic-free alternatives.

Hi,My name is Nancy Baldwin and I'm in Portland Oregon USA.  I'm most interested in the organic cotton cloths by Raising Green Kids. I can find so many uses for these! I would also love Aquarian Bath soaps. I LOVE LOVE soaps!!!!

As always I'm trying to reduce my plastic in my everyday life.  I love teaching my kids that there is a plastic free way of life. My hope is to raise my children to know of these things and prevent them from taking over in our future.  The planet, animals and humans count on it.

I would love any gift that is available to Canadians:-)

To reduce plastic this year I am wrapping all my gifts in newspaper comics and tying them up with wool:-) Also I have gorgeous shopping bags from Kootsac, a Canadian company, and I'll be placing small gift items in those. They are stunning. Look them up- the owner sells through Etsy.

I am not a re-gifter, but I am a re-wrapper.  When I am given a gift in a disposable wrapper I attempt to reuse whatever possible.  I also have been making cotton gift bags to give my presents in for the past few Christmases.  The bag even becomes part of the gift and can be reused in the future.

I am interested in the soaps, towels and Juniperseed

4) The Muscle Relief Balm though the jailer key ring is really cool too.

5) We have two little ones and have asked family not to buy gifts for them or to be conscious of what they buy since many gifts now given are plastic themselves or come in plastic packaging. It's certainly a challenge but we have found if you give options (like places we know that sell non-plastic toys) it usually works out just fine!

Hey friend!  Ok... so I'm commenting because I'm hoping this is my opportunity to try something new!  I've been rationing out my facial moisturizer for the past... umm... 2 years (?!) and am now about out.  I've been rationing it because while it's a metal tube it does have a plastic cap.  Hopefully the giveaway is still happening... because it's looking like I'll be the 55th comment (hello lucky number!)

So yeah, it's me... Danielle (you know how and where to find me) :D

I would love love LOVE to get my hands on that facial moisturizer.

We'll be making lots of plastic-free yumminess this holiday season :)

4) Unbleached birdseye cloths -- I've been looking for a good kitchen paper towel replacement. The rags we have now are.. mediocre at best.

5)  No plastic toys for my daughter. For gift-giving, we're making handmade gifts that will be plastic-free. I'm looking for bath toys for my daughter, and we're looking into wood and metal instead of plastic. And we're skipping the Christmas tree entirely in favor of hanging ornaments on a bunting chain in the kitchen pass-through so we don't have to deal with the mess of a live tree with baby and kitten or the danger of a PVC artificial tree.

YOUR SUGGESTION PLEASE...I'm trying to find a company that offers plastic-free blinds for two bedroom windows .  Components made of non-toxic wood slats and natural fiber threading with metal hardware.   I see, the chance of escaping a household fire (in any room) may be higher for those with less plastic products in it--the released toxic vapors from any petro-product will disorient a person's ability to find safety.
