I had to pick up a couple of things at the grocery store this morning, and while I go to Whole Foods for most things, it is 35 minutes away, and I just needed applesauce.

ANYWAY--I went to the Stop and Shop down the road, and apparently, they are no longer giving customers the 5-cent credit for bringing their own reusable bags!  I called the manager of the store when I got home, and apparently it is a company wide decision.  He took my name and address, and said that he is passing along all of the concerns relating to this matter to corporate, but I am concerned that if more people don't say something, this will not only go into effect, but become more widespread amongst other grocery chains.

So if any of you are on the East Coast, and have a local Stop & Shop, please call and let them know you want them to bring back the 5 cent credit for reusable bags!!!
