I wrote an op-ed piece that was published in the Trenton Times (NJ) full of fun facts about how much free plastic shopping bags really cost us as consumers, as merchants, and tax payers. It was met with a hurricane of negative comments, none of which were fact based. Here is the link:

Please weigh in with your comments. Anyone out there with more information on the subject, please let me know. It will help with our coalition's discussion with legislators and other leaders down the road. Thank you all for "being the change"!

Your article was awesome! The responses on the site were ridiculous, as though everyone absolutely must have 'free' bags. I will work on getting this passed in my town too.
