I like the word plastic-free rather than anti-plastic because to me, plastic-free means freedom from the addiction to plastic. It would be hard to find a word comparable to vegetarian because when it comes to food, there are basically animals and vegetables, but there are many, many alternatives to plastic depending on the use... metal, wood, glass, etc. Do you have any other suggestions?

I was wondering if anyone has ideas for a catchy word that would describe not using plastic.

It seems to me that the words "vegetarian" and "vegan" have been really helpful to spreading the idea of not eating animal products, etc. Many restaurants put "vegetarian" on their menus, food companies put "vegan" on their labels, and everyone now understands what those mean.

Perhaps "plastic-free" is the way to go (like "gluten-free"), but I was wondering if there was a catchier word. Particularly one that would be framed as a positive, as opposed to the absence of something (plastic).

-Alex

P.S. Apologies if this is something you have already discussed. I read the book and have skimmed through the posts here, but could easily have missed something.
