I eat with chopsticks a lot as Asian cuisine is something I make at home and eat dining out . However, my dentist (I have heard all this before too) says NOT to use stainless steel chopsticks because they can chip teeth. I know...my teeth have soft enamel, and i have chipped them. So I use the bamboo ones instead. Just a thought for you and your family. It can happen.

It's not just plastic I try and avoid but any food related storage item that needs to be thrown away. Having like minded friends helps when it comes to gift giving.

As an example we have bought lovely Stainless Steel Drinking Straws by Keg Works on Amazon, and in a local store, that we keep with us and are washable. Have bought the Golden Coulee Stainless Steel Chopsticks as well as the Kids Konserve Stainless Steel Mini Food Containers (we eat smaller servings per the French way) from Amazon. LunchBots on Amazon also carries stainless lunch/food containers which you can use for home food storage in the refrigerator.

As for bread, I make most of ours, but if someone buys bread, try and buy from a local bakery who uses paper bags and then invest in a bread storage unit like the ones Polder makes, which are European mode and stainless. Have other suggestions but you get the idea......
