Dear Beth and friends,

My son and his girlfriend went to a shop here in Seville that specialises in American products and brought back some items in a 'biodegradable' plastic bag Yell. I'm skeptical and want to send an email to the shop asking them to stop using the bags, but I need help explaining why they are not as environmentally friendly as the manufacturer claims.

Could you check it out and help me, please?

One thing that really bothers me is that this company claims on their site that there is 'no need to ban plastic', thanks to their technology.

Thanks so much.
