When we move next month, I anticipate needing some sort of under-bed storage unit. We don't have any building skills, and replacing the bed is not in the budget right now. So I'm looking for something that 1) fits under the bed 2) has a lid, to keep my out-of-season clothes from getting covered in cat hair, and 3) can be easily purchased. Anybody have any ideas?
How about wicker? http://www.basketlady.com/Unde…..p1968.html
Here's another woven one with optional wheels: http://www.thecompanystore.com…..lt,pd.html
Also found this, which looks like cardboard, but strangely, the site doesn't say: http://www.containerstore.com/…..t=underbed
I Googled "natural underbed storage"
OfflineI've also seen some canvas storage boxes with lids (at around $20 for 10"H x 16"W x 19" here – http://www.homedecorators.com/…..8;aid=bzrt). Also, wrapping paper storage boxes are available in cardboard at around $25 at http://www.exposuresonline.com (look under Holidays, Storage)
Julsie, I have a huge wrapping paper storage box I kept under the bed for years. With my latest move, I have no need/space (bought an Ikea storage bed.) I am looking to give/donate it to someone – have you passed through Charlottesville for your pillows yet? I live there, and would be happy to meet you in town and give you the box. It's plastic, but at least we'd be keeping it out of the local landfill… (Also, you could check thrift shops for similar storage boxes) You could PM me through the members link and let me know if you're interested.
Have you considered suitcases? Some of the older hard ones are thin enough to go under a bed.
Also you could consider buying the things that raise the bed up so that taller storage can fit under. I have only seen plastic ones of these. but I am sure you could come up with something similar.
