Let's see what plastic-free looks like in 2012... for the health of our bodies, our oceans, our planet. ~Beth Terry

Hey Outside Lands Music Festival, why wouldn't you fill my beautiful stainless steel wine glass this year? You tout your eco-friendly credentials and encourage people to bring reusable bottles for water, but you won't let us use our own containers for beer or wine. Not only that, you won't even REFILL your own compostable plastic cup because you say you are using them to count inventory. Well guess what… there must be a more sustainable way to calculate how much wine and beer you have sold. Oh, I know… you could just see how much wine and beer you have left at the end of the festival. And subtract.

In your Wine Haven tent, you sell a reusable plastic "glass" and say that according to your liquor license, the container must be clear. But all the other wine sellers were happy to pour the wine from the disposable plastic cup into my stainless steel glass. So I don't think you all have your stories straight. Skip the plastic altogether. The bottom line is that plastic is not healthy for anyone to drink out of, and compostable plastic is still a single-use disposable item filled with chemicals. Please reconsider your policies for next year.
