After seeing "Bag It," reading "Plastic Free" and hearing Beth speak during our film festival this summer at the Lafayette Library I have become very motivated to eliminate plastic. Two resources that I have found not mentioned in the book are Lehman's catalog and website (lehmans.com) and a good source of bulk foods and plastic free cheeses/meats/fish are Mexican supermarkets (Las Montañas in Concord especially). Lehman's is a site that has many Amish made products and products made for the Amish. There's everything from good quality safety razors and blades (and shapeners!) to shampoo bars.

Since being inspired we've been able to reduce our waste significantly and hope to soon be able to order the smallest garbage can (20 gallon) from our garbage company. This is saying a lot because we have 8 people in our household and have been recognized 4 years in a row as the greenest family in Lafayette and in Contra Costa County.

Thanks for the inspiration.
