dental floss in non plastic containers? Is dental floss plastic itself?
cat biscuits again…
Location:Auckland, New Zealand
I’m in my mid-30’s, busy professional, finding that plastic=convenience, and being plastic free requires time and not taking the easy way from A to B all the time. I did plastic free July and am committed to continuing my commitment to reducing plastic in my life and changing my lifestyle to find alternatives.
List of plastic items REFUSED this week. (Yay!)
plastic containers for takeaways
Total items collected: 6
facial cleanser container
dental floss container
mini cream cheese container
thai curry bag (this was from before plastic free july, using up the plastic in the house :)
corner of cat food biscuit bag
small plastic tie thing-y not sure where it came from
What items can I easily replace with plastic free or less plastic alternatives?
make my own facial cleanser (but not sure how- suggestions?)
cook my own curry or buy takeaways in my own container
What items would I be willing to give up if a plastic free alternative doesn’t exist?
What items are essential and seem to have no plastic-free alternative?
What lifestyle change(s) might be necessary to reduce my plastic consumption?
less work more time to make facial cleanser and cat biscuits?!
What one plastic item am I willing to give up or replace this week?
What other conclusions, if any, can I draw?
I have less plastic waste than week 1, and none of it I bought in July, all from pre-plastic-free-July…be interesting to see next week, as I wean myself off the plastic and convenience factor…
