Take the challenge. Collect your plastic waste (both recyclable and non) for one week or more. Then photograph, tally, and post it here. What can we learn about our habits and lifestyles by examining our waste? And what changes can each of us make to leave the planet a little less trashy?

Debbie, I love your analysis. And no, I don't think it helps the environment to buy a car to avoid plastic packaging! :-)

If you drink soda a lot and really don't want to give it up, you might consider a soda maker. I wrote about it here:

http://www.fakeplasticfish.com/2008/07/my-happy-penguin.html

But if sodas are just occasional luxuries you can live without, it wouldn't be worth it -- just like the car.

It sounds like you have already made some great efforts. Oh, and I eat out a lot too. Just have to remember my containers and utensils.
