Take the challenge. Collect your plastic waste (both recyclable and non) for one week or more. Then photograph, tally, and post it here. What can we learn about our habits and lifestyles by examining our waste? And what changes can each of us make to leave the planet a little less trashy?

I LOVE to drink soda when it is in the house but I also HATE to have soda in the house. I drink it way to fast and it is full of so much sugar and things I really would rather not drink. I am totally content drinking juices and teas. I also don't like fizzy stuff after dinner. My mom never bought soda when I was growing up and I think that is one reason why I love drinking it so much but also why I don't need it. That is except the occasional cream soda. I also get sodas when I go out to eat or at friends houses and that is more than enough for me in reality.

Hi Vanessa. If you guys drink a lot of soda and really enjoy it, you might want to consider investing in a Soda Stream soda maker. It will save you money in the long run and generates almost zero waste. I have a Penguin because it comes with glass carafes. There are much less pricey ones that come with a reusable plastic bottle. Here's my review of the Penguin:

http://www.fakeplasticfish.com/2008/07/my-happy-penguin.html

And here is info on all the soda makers on the Soda Stream site:

http://www.sodastreamusa.com
