Take the challenge. Collect your plastic waste (both recyclable and non) for one week or more. Then photograph, tally, and post it here. What can we learn about our habits and lifestyles by examining our waste? And what changes can each of us make to leave the planet a little less trashy?

I watched The Duggan Sisters video http://www.duggansisters.com/lifestinks/lifestinks.php
The container for their powered deodorant is stainless steel with a shaker top. They do sell a refill for the SS shaker in a plastic bag. They say it is a year's supply. I think it may be an issue of keeping moisture out of the powder.

This small business is run by cousins of mine in Chicago. All natural deodorant in a reusable, nonplastic container. And it works!

I grew up on microwave popcorn but now buy loose kernels in bulk, using my cloth produce bag and storing in glass jars. I was amazed at both how easy it is to make popcorn "from scratch" and at how much better it tastes. Plus I have more portion control. No way would I go back!

Amanda, it's amazing that you cut your plastic waste in half. Let me know how the worm composting goes. I've been experimenting with various deodorant options and plan on posting about what I've discovered soon. I had been using plain baking soda, but lately it has caused the same itching that other people experienced.
