Phoenix, Arizona, Female, Married, WAHM, daughter- 4yrs, son-almost 2yrs. I could have a lot less plastic if I didn’t buy on-the-go snacks, such as cheese sticks, and go-gurts, for the kids. My kids like popsicles in the summer. It’s so easy to buy dye-free, natural flavored popsicles for $1.50 than to find the ingredients for those or yogurt smoothie pops.

What items would I be willing to give up if a plastic free alternative doesn’t exist?
Restt. kid beverages. I carry their water containers everywhere.
What items are essential and seem to have no plastic-free alternative?
What lifestyle change(s) might be necessary to reduce my plastic consumption?
learn more recipes, and find time to practice them.
What one plastic item am I willing to give up or replace this week?
What other conclusions, if any, can I draw?
It is still difficult to be without plastic. When I first began to look for alternatives, it was really hard to find it. I have to shop at signature stores to find the variety one is used to seeing everywhere else.
I ran the Race for the Cure and all the vendors were handing out plastic stuff and paper flyers. I had to say no to so much..including a bag that contained one non-plastic item, in it I did want.
I brought my own water. I did say yes to an all natural soda in a can.
