Take the challenge. Collect your plastic waste (both recyclable and non) for one week or more. Then photograph, tally, and post it here. What can we learn about our habits and lifestyles by examining our waste? And what changes can each of us make to leave the planet a little less trashy?

Raw cashews are my favorite snack item. I get them in bulk at the health-food store, using my cloth produce bag, then I store them in glass jars at home. They have lots of fat and protein, so small portions are the way to go. I sometimes use a shot glass as my serving container. If you're used to the usual salted, roasted nuts, it takes some getting used to the lack of lots of salt and oil, but the raw cashews seem sweeter and creamier to me. Yum!
