Jon Fishbein, Ethical Ocean, Week 2

Name: Jon Fishbein
Week: 2
Personal Info:
I’m Jon from Ethical Ocean (www.ethicalocean.com)! I live in Toronto, Canada in an apartment by myself. I travel quite a bit, and will be hauling plastic around with me for the challenge….
Total items: 13
Total weight:
Items: Recyclable
Plastic food conatiners x 4
Plastic food containers tops x 4
Small sauce container and lid
coffee cup lids x 2
Items: Nonrecyclable
Foam soup lid
What items can I replace with plastic free or less plastic alternatives?
I can do a better job bringing my own tupperware for food takeout at the office and home. I can also bring a travel mug with me when I travel to reduce the cup tops
What items would I be willing to give up if a plastic free alternative doesn’t exist?
none
What items are essential and seem to have no plastic-free alternative?
none
What lifestyle change(s) might be necessary to reduce my plastic consumption?
Still stuck on the takeout food while travelling. Maybe there’s some small foldable tupperware I can use.
What one plastic item am I willing to give up or replace this week?
Disposable coffee tops. I should always have my travel mug with me like I do with my water bottle.
What other conclusions, if any, can I draw?
Reducing plastic while travelling a lot is super hard. Plastic is everywhere on planes, trains, airports and train stations!
