Take the challenge. Collect your plastic waste (both recyclable and non) for one week or more. Then photograph, tally, and post it here. What can we learn about our habits and lifestyles by examining our waste? And what changes can each of us make to leave the planet a little less trashy?

Thank you so much Beth for your compliments... while I'm thrilled with what we're accomplishing... it's nice to hear it from an outside source :) (And I totally had to double check with my mom that she did in fact get the Barbie at an "antique mall"!!! funny stuff)

Sarah. We have lots of plastic eating things around this house. ;) I always say that I could go 99.9% plastic-free if we didn't have pets or kids!! But they make life so much better... ;)

I get my cheese from my local co-op. It's local cheese that doesn't come wrapped in plastic.... so I call ahead and place an order and they wrap it in paper for me (instead of plastic). My co-op has been so helpful and accommodating with my needs...

AND... Beth... I have the best news!! (going to message you now!!)

Wow, that is amazing. I haven't done the plastic challenge since I discovered that I have a plastic eating mouse.(Perhaps Beth's plastic eating cat could come and eat him)
The antique Barbie is a great solution! Of course, that could put her on the road to full on barbie collector.
Where do you order your plastic free cheese? (For me, not the mouse)

This is amazing, Danielle. The holidays are the hardest time to reduce waste, especially when you have kids. Kudos. And I love that your mom bought her an "antique" Barbie from 1994. Because... you know, 1994 was like a billion years ago. :-)
