Take the challenge. Collect your plastic waste (both recyclable and non) for one week or more. Then photograph, tally, and post it here. What can we learn about our habits and lifestyles by examining our waste? And what changes can each of us make to leave the planet a little less trashy?

...thanks Beth. :) I want to make changes by doing this challenge... through doing this challenge every week I'm more aware of what we're using and it's keeping me focused... but I'm only sharing only what plastics we do use... and not sharing our weekly victories in how we avoided (or came up with solutions around) plastics. (<--maybe that's something to add to the challenge for people to share?)

Also, one thing I forgot about why I'm taking the challenge is that I'm not doing it entirely for myself...sure plastic sucks and I want to eliminate it from our lives as much as possible... but I decided to do this for 52 weeks to encourage others to start looking at the plastics they use....and help create change. AND... my brother's girlfriend just told me she's going to do the challenge!!! YAY!!!

Danielle, you guys are doing such an amazing job. Give yourself a break.

One thing that stands out to me are all the bright and pastel colors in your photos. Very attractive for kids. Ah, marketing.
