Take the challenge. Collect your plastic waste (both recyclable and non) for one week or more. Then photograph, tally, and post it here. What can we learn about our habits and lifestyles by examining our waste? And what changes can each of us make to leave the planet a little less trashy?

Hi Manu. Yes, most sponges themselves are made from plastic. There are some sponges made from natural cellulose, which are biodegradable. And of course there are natural sea sponges, but I do not recommend using them to wash dishes... for the sake of the ocean!

I keep hearing people mention getting laser surgery to avoid plastic vision care supplies. I would never advise surgery. That is between you and your doctor. My solution is to wear glasses, but they don't work for everyone. It's a personal question.

I hope you will post pictures of the cotton bags you make.

Shoes are hard. But my advice is to concentrate on reducing the disposable packaging waste first before you worry too much about shoes. For now, I would say just get a really good pair that will last a long time. If you can find them secondhand, even better.
