The chickpea bag is a leftover- I’ve been buying bulk.
What items would I be willing to give up if a plastic free alternative doesn’t exist?
I’m looking into (portable) alternatives to Gu.
What items are essential and seem to have no plastic-free alternative?
What lifestyle change(s) might be necessary to reduce my plastic consumption?
What one plastic item am I willing to give up or replace this week?
egg noodles- I have learned how to make my own so I don’t have to buy the bag.
What other conclusions, if any, can I draw?
This is 2 weeks worth of plastic (weeks 12 and 13) but for 6 days I was out of town using huge amounts of plastic, directly and indirectly. None of this plastic was weighed or photographed. I was helping to fix up a condo and the amount of plastic thrown away was incredible- cartons and wrappers, paint rollers, paint trays, tags, tape, etc. So even though my week 12 plastic use was lower than it’s ever been it was offset by week 13. I tried my best while I was there but it was like fighting a wave of plastic and single-use items. A real low point of the trip was eating Pringles out of a single serving plastic cup. It made my stainless steel water bottle and reuseable sandwich wrap seem pretty silly.
