Take the challenge. Collect your plastic waste (both recyclable and non) for one week or more. Then photograph, tally, and post it here. What can we learn about our habits and lifestyles by examining our waste? And what changes can each of us make to leave the planet a little less trashy?

OMG... Beth I'm loving that stainless steel container!!!

Back in June, I froze tons of strawberries, blueberries and now blackberries. I'll be freezing peaches soon... and they're mainly all for smoothies. When I freeze the fruits, I put them on trays first and then when they're frozen I transfer them to containers. I use large glass jars and the large yogurt containers.... they're never stuck together so I (or my kids) can easily grab a handful :) No ziplock bags required ;)

Also, I make my own almond milk and I don't have a high powered blender... it's an Oster... while it does have different speeds... it's definitely not high speed and it gets the job done :) May be worth a try :)

Hi Kristin. I'm curious about those packing peanuts. Are you sure they're Styrofoam? Try putting one in water and see if it dissolves. They look suspiciously like corn peanuts to me. If so, you can just toss them in the compost.

If you have a ton of strawberries to freeze, and it's a regular thing, you might want to invest in an airtight stainless steel container like this:

http://lifewithoutplastic.com/boutique/airtight-rectangular-storage-container-4-l-1-gal-new-p-415.html?zenid=5edfab15ab75b0b8e9df37cfe53cea97

It holds a gallon! Life Without Plastic has a ton of other containers that can go in the freezer that might be a better shape than jars. Also, people have said that if you don't want your produce to stick together in the freezer, freeze individually on trays before putting into the container.

Hey, where did all those caps come from?
