Take the challenge. Collect your plastic waste (both recyclable and non) for one week or more. Then photograph, tally, and post it here. What can we learn about our habits and lifestyles by examining our waste? And what changes can each of us make to leave the planet a little less trashy?

Melissa: Thank you for your suggestions. These are great ideas! Made my own hot/cold pad soon after posting this instead of buying a plastic one from the store. I will experiment with the oils, I have many kinds on hand for cooking. Will do a search about the light recycling, good suggestion.

Happy New Year, to you!

I think the plastic tournequet could be used for isometric (?) exercises.
I have clothe bags filled with rice for a heating pad (except no microwave :( ) Some people use a sock & rice.
I've been using Badger brand rose body oil http://www.badgerbalm.com/p-474-damascus-rose-antioxidant-body-oil.aspx (not their new rose facial oil) for my face & it's been working great. I find it very moisturizing - I tend to dry sensitive skin. There is a plastic pump but I'll probably reuse it & fill with my own oil mix. If you want to "try before you buy" experiment with olive oil (very moisturizing), jojoba oil (lighter) or coconut oil (very light). Or mix! Dr. Hauschka has some oils in glass bottles. Btw, just a few drops go far.
I'd ask Best Buy what happens to the lights. I think
I saw an article on light recycling. Maybe on grist?
