Take the challenge. Collect your plastic waste (both recyclable and non) for one week or more. Then photograph, tally, and post it here. What can we learn about our habits and lifestyles by examining our waste? And what changes can each of us make to leave the planet a little less trashy?

My strategy on Amazon is to see if I can find the sellers off the Amazon site -- if the items are sold by third parties rather than Amazon itself. And I try and send them an email that way. For example, years back when I bought my porcelain coffee maker, the Amazon seller was Greenfeet, so I looked them up on Google (I hadn't heard of Greenfeet before that) and sent an email asking how the coffee maker would be packaged if I bought it through Amazon. Why not try that?

It does seem that Amazon is mailing books in bubble mailers these days. :-(
