Take the challenge. Collect your plastic waste (both recyclable and non) for one week or more. Then photograph, tally, and post it here. What can we learn about our habits and lifestyles by examining our waste? And what changes can each of us make to leave the planet a little less trashy?

Thanks so much for the tape info. This is exactly what I needed. I lack the confidence and skills to make homemade tortilla chips. I do make flour tortillas and crackers, but the really yummy deep fried dipping chips? I'm not so sure I can pull that off. Crackers, snack mix, and popcorn seem to be helping. There are a lot of places in my neighborhood that make regular/corn tortillas so maybe I'll try that route. If I can get some tortillas plastic-free perhaps I could oven fry them or something.

Hi Nan. I know some people make their own tortilla chips. Or find a taqueria where they make them from scratch. Me? I just need the salt and crunch, so I eat pretzels from the bulk bin instead. It depends on what it is about the tortilla chips that you need. Maybe others will chime in.

As for tape, I can help you! Check out #70 here: http://plasticfreeguide.com
