Take the challenge. Collect your plastic waste (both recyclable and non) for one week or more. Then photograph, tally, and post it here. What can we learn about our habits and lifestyles by examining our waste? And what changes can each of us make to leave the planet a little less trashy?

If you eat out, then only plastic you get is toilet rolls wrap + your hygiene products packages.
But is it really a solution? Only to the extent of how your takeaway or restaurant is getting supplied, 'cos they may use a lot of plastic too...

Or go more drastically onto a beer diet (!not recommended), then all you have is an alloy cans ;)
And don't forget not to wash yourself with nothing more than a tap water, well, I guess you can get a soap without a package in some soap shop.

Good luck finding your way :)

You most certainly can make your own yoghurt from soya milk. If you make it in a haybox it won't use much energy either (no need to buy a yoghurt maker). You can also make it in a thermos but the results aren't as good as a haybox.

To be plastic free in the U.K. You need to stock up on compostable bags and reusable bags and double check everything - even vege boxes can come in plastic bags. getting beans and pulses plastic free is almost impossible and compromises have to be made. I have just updated a post on this subject (I have been boycotting plastic for years now). I have heard of people making their own soya milk but don't know if you can then make yoghurt. For other stuff check out my plastic free A to Z index over at www.plasticisrubbish.wordpress.com I am in Huddersfield so the information will be good for Leeds. Good luck .
