What lifestyle change(s) might be necessary to reduce my plastic consumption?
Find a nonplastic source of non-dairy milk or start making my own; don’t buy frozen vegetables; buy oatmeal in bulk.

Hi there Gina! I've definitely seen tofu sold in bulk at grocery stores in the Bay Area. As far as non dairy containers such as Silk Almond milk and Soy Milk being recyclable, unfortunately no, they cannot be recycled since the insides are lined with plastic.
