So I was in Sears the other day and I noticed an ad for towels. It just seemed like a normal ad, with a photo of towels in a nice looking bathroom and then I noticed – the toothbrushes on the counter were definitely either wood or bamboo!

Maybe it doesn’t seem like that big a deal, but I think that when a big company uses something like bamboo toothbrushes in an ad it normalizes it and makes people more aware of their existnce. I got really excited when I saw it. They really do look quite attractive and looked great in they ad so it makes sense why they used them.

I think awareness of these kinds of easy alternatives is important. A lot of people just don’t even know about some plastic free alternatives and thats part of the reason they don’t use them.

Since I started using bamboo toothbrushes, quite a few people I know have made the switch as well because the plastic problem never occurred to them before and they didn’t know there was an alternative.

Seeing the bamboo toothbrushes in this ad made me happy so I figured I would share it!

I love this!  I love that some plastic-free alternatives are becoming mainstream.  That’s awesome.  Did you happen to send them an email to thank them?

No, I didn’t think of sending an e-mail, but that’s a good idea, positive feedback can go a long way!

I’ll look into who I can send one to.
