Hi Beth —
First I just want to say I love your site and appreciate what you do. Your web site has helped inspire me to try to go as plastic free as possible in my home and life.
On that subject, I’d like to ask you and your community for tips on how to recycle the kinds of product plastic bags that so many groceries come in (think frozen vegetable bags, bags of granola, bags of just about anything you buy in the grocery store). I live in Alexandria, Virginia, and the city won’t recycle such bags in the curbside collection. My wife and I have a local organic grocery store we shop at which collects and recycled plastic shopping bags (the kind you get at checkout) and some clear plastic bags like zip lock bags and break bags, but they don’t take the kind of plastic bags I mentioned above. I’m trying to find alternatives to the various products that come in such bags, but in the meantime I want to recycle the ones that comes with products I’m still buying, instead of just throwing them in the trash.
I’m wondering if you have any advice.
