Hi folks,

The idea of tracking plastic use is appealing to me in part because it’s a new thing to track, which is something I enjoy what with my being a “self-quantifier”, but it’s also so significant. One of my favorite TV pundits refers to what humans and corporations are doing to the planet as an “ecological Holocaust”, and I agree, we’re not just polluting the planet, we’re destroying the planet. Unless humanity stops killing off life in the oceans, polluting vital aquifers with fracking fluids and filling landfills with plastics and everything else, the outlook for our species and many other species does not look good. This could be part of what triggers a major die-off, if the shortage of petroleum isn’t enough to do it.
