Ew. Epichlorohydrin, formaldehyde. I have a metal tea ball I use. A friend gave me a gift of specially designed empty tea envelopes that you fill with your bulk tea, and then put in your cup. I also bought a mug with a small metal screen that fits in it. And of course, sometimes I just throw the tea leaves in, and let them sink to the bottom of the cup as they steep.
Some teas now come in little plastic mesh net bags. Oy. I got some as gifts (I love tea which is why I get so many tea related gifts). I cut the mesh, and pour the tea into the cup or tea ball – no way am I putting those in hot water and then drinking it! Thanks for your research on all of this!
