I’ve been watching the Olympics the last few days and have mostly really enjoyed them, except for one thing … plastic bottles!  The athletes are often shown drinking from plastic bottles (looks like Evian).  With all of the sponsors (Chobani, Nike, etc.) why didn’t a reusable bottle company sponsor?  How cool would Olympic themed Kleen Kanteens look?  Also, how great of a message would it be sending to see great athletes reusing containers?!  The amount of waste generated by the games must be huge, but wouldn’t it be great if the number of bottles could have been reduced?

Yes! And there is an organization called Greener on Thames that is working on getting the plastic out of the London Olympics, but you’re right. I’m guessing, though, that sponsoring the Olympics must cost a boatload of money that small companies like Klean Kanteen probably couldn’t afford.
