Most of waste comes from hygiene products eg cotton buds and food, without having a local green grocer etc how can i reduce these issues?

With living on an island, I have limited resources for shopping, i.e no such things as a bulk barn here! So struggling to reduce my grocery shop plastics. We have a few small local markets but otherwise we’re limited to a small Co-op shop.

So I have run out of shampoo/shower gel so I am using some shampoo soap, but wow twas expensive!

So found out that I do not have to use big bin linners in the bin but wrap up the refuge or put it in carrier bags. So I have been eating fresh food and cooking myself meals this week, partly because of the plastic expense and partly due to needing to get extra vitamins because of ill health.
