What items can I easily replace with plastic free or less plastic alternatives?
I need to say that this was actually another ZERO plastic week for me. All of these items were generated by guest in my home, all bought and used while I was in Mexico.
What items would I be willing to give up if a plastic free alternative doesn’t exist?
What items are essential and seem to have no plastic-free alternative?
What lifestyle change(s) might be necessary to reduce my plastic consumption?
What I learned from Week #8 – Ask people NOT to bring plastic into your home. I have to admit that I haven’t done that EVER. I haven’t done that in the past because I wasn’t aware the immense damage plastic is to the planet. This week I discovered (thanks to Beth’s FB post) that there are FIVE Gyres. Makes sense as the planet is mostly water; actually, the Earth is about 67% water, including water locked up in polar ice. The human body, and this will vary with age, body type and gender, is 65% water. What does this tell us?
What one plastic item am I willing to give up or replace this week?
What other conclusions, if any, can I draw?
It’s difficult to live, or work with people who are not aware or without the same goals as yourself – it doesn’t matter what the issue – faith, politics, or plastic. I’m not really big on pushing my ideas onto other people. I make my opinion public but I don’t preach. I attempt to be impeccable in word and action.
Another thing that is really helping me, involves reading blogs on these issues.
