List of plastic items REFUSED this week. (Yay!)

Plastic cups, bottles, bags, produce bags…

At the post office, an employee wanted to put plastic tape over the staples on the mailers I was using to send Plastic-Free books to people. I begged her not to do it, explaining the title of the book being sent. She relented, but from now on, I will have to put paper tape over the staples. She explained that bare staples can be dangerous to letter carriers. (Mine, I have to say, were very well closed without any sharp edges, but still…)

Total items collected: 2

Total weight: .5 oz

Items: Recyclable
None

Items: Nonrecyclable
1) Packing tape from case of Plastic-Free books.

2) Plastic seal from around a glass jar of Fudge Is My Life fudge sauce

What items can I easily replace with plastic free or less plastic alternatives?

What items would I be willing to give up if a plastic free alternative doesn’t exist?
The fudge sauce seal. I was having cravings and could not resist this week. 🙂

What items are essential and seem to have no plastic-free alternative?
The packing tape on the cases of Plastic-Free books. All the cases are already taped up. See explanation of tape on book boxes here:  http://myplasticfreelife.com/plastic-challenge/plastic-challenge-beth-terry-week-21/
