Total items: 13
Total weight:
Items: Recyclable
1 chocolate syrup bottle
Items: Nonrecyclable
3 Gardein packages
1 Salami package
5 caps/rings (milks & spice)
2 seals
1 bag (from grits)
What items can I easily replace with plastic free or less plastic alternatives?
Chocolate syrup! This is horrible, but it had been in the fridge for at least 2 years!! We (obviously) don’t really use it, so I wouldn’t purchase it again. If we need chocolate syrup, then I’ll just make some :)
Lid from spices: I purchase all of my spices in bulk. Going through spices takes me a LONG time.
What items would I be willing to give up if a plastic free alternative doesn’t exist?
Chocolate syrup
What items are essential and seem to have no plastic-free alternative?
Grits?? I bought a cloth bag only to find out that inside was a plastic bag!! I can’t find grits (or polenta) in bulk or even in a paper bag. I’ll keep looking.
What lifestyle change(s) might be necessary to reduce my plastic consumption?
What one plastic item am I willing to give up or replace this week?
What other conclusions, if any, can I draw?
