I live with my parents and brother. Just 4 of us in one 2 story house. We drink a lot of water from plastic bottles and Arizona from cans. We have a lot of plastic bags which we use for a lot of things. My dad commutes to SF everyday for work, my mom drives to Antioch to work, and I deliver for round table, so there’s of gas consumption here.
Deepak Sukhu’s personal blog:
List of plastic items REFUSED this week. (Yay!)
plastic bags, since we can have one trash bag that can probably collect and hold everything we dump.
Total items collected: 100
Total weight: idk
Bottles, glass, cans, paper
What items can I easily replace with plastic free or less plastic alternatives?
What items would I be willing to give up if a plastic free alternative doesn’t exist?
What items are essential and seem to have no plastic-free alternative?
hygiene bottles, like lotion bottles and shaving utensils, etc
What lifestyle change(s) might be necessary to reduce my plastic consumption?
use one plastic bag instead of many of them
What one plastic item am I willing to give up or replace this week?
bottles, i can use a reusable one from the store
What other conclusions, if any, can I draw?
maybe get my whole family to do it
